Central Bridge Company takes great pride in working closely with project owners to coordinate construction activities with public outreach personnel to minimize the impact on the traveling public. We've worked on designs for heavy civil construction, rehabilitation, and reconstruction projects for both private and public clients. Our engineering services enhance surface transportation structures and major highways in rural and city settings.
Bridge Construction
Our expertise in bridge construction spans the widest range of possibilities for project owners. Our experience in building single and multiple spans, steel beams and girders, concrete beams, concrete slabs, inclined steel arch, cast-in-place segmental, and post-tension structures shines through in all our work.
Our in-house team is also experienced in bridge repair and rehabilitation, including fixing structural joints, parapet and barrier walls, deck resurfacing, and structural patching of existing builds. Our bridge construction experience includes highway, municipal, pedestrian, class one railroad bridges, interchanges, marine applications, temporary bridge construction, and boardwalks.
Bank Stabilization
Our stream bank stabilization clients range from municipalities to state transportation departments. This type of work is typically interrelated to a broader project scope encompassing bridge, box culvert, or roadway embankment construction.
Channel stability may often require a Geomorphic Assessment to determine the best permanent or temporary construction practices to mitigate scour and sediment deposition, while preserving adequate flow characteristics. We are experienced with these practices, which often require planning, design, and evaluation for approval and permitting by appropriate regulatory agencies prior to construction.
Site Grading & Utilities
We offer turn-key site development services with staff experienced in mass earthwork (excavation and embankment), storm drainage, underground utilities, and surfacing bases. Current state-of-the-art technologies in GPS / 3D modeling machine controls ensure quality and efficient work to meet our client’s schedules and productivity expectations. Our services include roadway, trail, railroad embankments, mass excavations, storm drainage structures, and underground utilities.
Pile Driving
Driven piles are key foundation elements for pedestrian and vehicular conveyance structures. Alternately, they serve as a practical method for temporary and earth retention structures – including our geologic evaluation and structural design services. Our experience includes geologic evaluation and structural design, pile driving, preboring, jetting, and temporary and permanent shoring.
Box Culverts
Our experience with reinforced concrete box culverts is inclusive of incidental temporary shoring for deep excavations or staged construction sequences and concrete channel aprons. Cast-in-place methods are typical for larger structures. Box culvert applications include attenuation and storage tanks, watercourse diversions, open channels, road crossings, pedestrian and vehicle subways, service tunnels and ducts, and conveyor protection.
Foundation Drilling
Deep foundation structures (drilled shafts) are common components of structural foundation systems for buildings and bridges, ranging from 18” diameter to 120” diameter, both temporarily or permanently cased. Our expertise includes pier foundations, drilled shaft secant walls, temporary and permanent forms of earth retention and tested drilled shafts.
Roads & Approaches
Interrelated to our site grading and utility services, our services include the construction of roads and approaches, concrete paving, slip-form paving, driveways, sidewalks, and islands.
